I don't know if it is a central Indiana thing or not, but the weather is somewhat bizarre. First we faced the two pretty massive size snow storms that happened in the middle of house construction. One so bad that school was closed. Now we dodge the tornado sirens. It is almost becoming routine to run to the basement for cover. Oh well at least I have boxes to unpack while taking cover. In the region we would occasionally hear those sirens, but who took them seriously. After all Lake Michigan was suppose to protect us. Here, no jokes. Almost every day we heard a siren a tornado touched down somewhere in Central Indiana. Are we in Kansas?
Mark and Liz spent two weeks at band practice preparing for the big Fishers Freedom Festival Parade. Mark playing the flugel horn and Liz twirling her bright colored flag. We purchased the new summer uniform. No parade. It rained on our parade. What a bummer. The parade was to begin at 4:00 but there was a steady down pour for hours. The director chose not to march because there was no cover during the parade route. What if it rained harder? What if there was lightning? And what about the instruments, should they get that wet! Nope, the parade went on without the band. The summer uniforms can become extra pajamas or better yet painting clothes.
Well gotta get back to my prime time TV and the daily scolling of severe thunderstorm warnings and marble size hail warnings. Keeps life interesting I guess. Keeps those mushrooms growing in my new grass as well. Maybe I better search the neighborhood sites for some extra wood, might need an ark.
