We have been blessed with lots of company this month! It has been tons of fun visiting with our friends and family and giving the good ole tour of Fishers. It started earlier in the month with some friends from Griffith. Then the visiting continued when my friends Ellen and Pat were traveling from a visit in southern Indiana and stopped by. Then just a week later the girls from SAAB came for club. Now that was a real club road trip. (It was Ellen's second trip in a month, you go girl).

We have been friends now for 19 years. We all taught together for one year in Highland before I left the Catholic schools for the world of public education. Some of the gals were unable to come for the day but for those able to make it, we had a great visit. We actually have seen more of each other since I moved than when I lived nearby. One member, Pat, who lives in Michigan commented, "that is true friendship" and I agree. They are the best! The coincidence is that two of the gals have kids who also live in FIshers. Of those kids I actually had two of them as students. The club gals make an effort to get together each month.

That same week, along came by buddy Liam and his Buzz Lightyear travel gear. He just lives to come to Fishers. Don't know why, he does not really want to see me just his buds Liz and Mark. My nephew Nick came too. He and Mark did what they always do, play on the computer all weekend long.

  It was a really hot weekend so the trip to the Indy zoo was cancelled. Instead we decided to be super lazy and lay around in the air conditioning. We tried a new German cafe, mmmm, excellent red cabbage.

We went to a couple stores but the heat was ridiculous so we went home to a DVD marathon. It was so much fun visiting. I just love to prepare a meal for company. We sure did eat good. The ice cream sundaes were a big hit.

Now it is my turn to do some traveling. Gotta get up north the next couple of weekends. I am doing some visiting with the old neighborhood for the Bauer Fest Block party. We continue to stay on the invitation list. Then up again for a baby shower. I enjoy my visits up north. Get to stay with the princess, catch up on our gossip. Like we both comment, our social life has improved since I moved. Hurrah for that!

Cry me a river

...and it'll be a torrent of tears...as in a Pontiac Torrent. But there will be no tears for our lucky winner Christine B. There seems to be a theme here 'cause Christine also pulled down a limited edition Found In Fishers t-shirt early in the life of this blog. And Johnny, tell 'em what she wins.

Well, Bob, Christine wins a ride in that shiny new Torrent, with la directora Flora at the wheel. And at $3.25 a gallon that ain't all bad. Of course it ain't no t-shirt or free lunch, but as momma would say, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." Besides...this isn't a "for profit" blog. Yet...

We'll post a photo of the actual car in a few days, but for now you'll have to settle for this one from Pontiac. You see the car's um...temporarily unavailable...'cause it's at the body shop. Yep, you read it right. Ye old body shoppe. There was this minor incident involving 3 Fishers squad cars, a fire truck, an ambulance, and 2 naked guys running down US 37 yelling something about the British coming and Flora was distracted...just por un momenteto.

Just yoking. It was a run in the paint on the rear bumper. But had ya going...unless you cheated and skipped ahead. Finally, for you linguistic over-achievers, here's a bit from Merriam-Webster's online dictionary.

The big announcement...

Wow, what a great response. And how quick. For all you shy bloggers, too bad for you. All participants in the last couple of days will be receiving a token of our appreciation for playing our silly little game. So is it time to reveal the winner?

Well sort of... there is a winner among our creative friends but we are not going to tell you who yet. Be patient, your time will come but one of you has made the correct guess. I wonder who was correct. Hmmmmmm

Fishers Vehicle Clue #2

Hey all you bloggers, don't be afraid to make your guess known! Good guesses so far. Wow, Christine sure had one very creative guess. So far there has not been a correct answer. Therefore it is time for some additional information in the form of Clue #2.

There were not correct answers this is true, but here are some more and it is not blue: 

• No one yet has mentioned the company that I bought "her"
• The name of the vehicle is similar to water

Hmmmm, what kind of vehicle did I buy?

Got bit by the car bug!

Some of you may already know that I have been looking for a new car for the last couple of months. Not too seriously but ever since I rode in my sister's Nissan I realized how little leg room the kids had in the back to sleep, I mean ride, up to northwest Indiana. I loved my Camry. It was a great car, never had a single problem with it which is good coming from a car owner who most frequently owned lemons.

So pondering on what I liked about my sister's Nissan Altima and seeing another friend's Buick Rendevous, I decided that this was the weekend to seriously look for a new car. I got bit by the car bug! My mission...find a car that could comfortably fit two adults, two teens and two dogs. It was not going to be easy to find one that I was willing to afford and had somewhat decent gas mileage. We were spoiled up north with the ability to take 2 cars to visit and for holidays. Two cars no more. The Camry is long gone and on my drive way is a brand new....

Sorry can't tell you yet. It is time for you to guess and to guess what color. Here are some clues for all you smarty pants. First, I bought it July 3rd but it does have something to do with the 4th of July. Clue #2 for all of my observant friends who have heard my car stories already. The name of this vehicle has never passed my lips prior to purchasing it today. That being said. Any guesses?

Keep checking!  PS - No fair for the Remley's to guess they already saw the new drive and were probably immediately relieved that we would probably no longer ask to borrow their van for Goodwill trips. They have been so incredibly helpful these last 4 months!
