The final Royal Command and Guard band competition prior to the championship finals was held over the weekend in Terre Haute, Indiana. Look who came to cheer on the Royals! How exciting it was for the clan to stop by and see Mark and Liz performing. The marching band once again won first place, took the trophy for best color guard and best general effects as well. We were sitting behind the competition who were not too happy that HSE won all the awards. They felt robbed, too bad, so sad for them. I am sure we will face them again in Ohio. This was one of the only competitions that did not have Grand Champion, but HSE would have won anyway since they had the highest score. And look who was able to join us! The Queen Mum. She was a trooper and happy to join the royal family. Afterwards we enjoyed a great meal from the local Chinese establishment along with several band members who stopped by for some additional fun and teasing from the family. I had to go to bed early, came home with a 102 fever and just was not able to stay up. It was a great day for all! Can't wait until the big family campout next weekend. Then we are off to Beaver Creek to compete in the Midwest Band finals. There will be 30 bands. It will be a butt breaker.

No, I did not fall in a hole!

Some of you are probably wondering what happened to my faithful weekly updates and news from Fishers. It is not that I don't want to share, it is that we are so busy that I am barely fitting in time to sleep. Sometimes I even have to squeeze that it on a weekend.

Had a super weekend. The princess and Liam came Friday night to share in our weekend events. We just got home from the football game and pregame band and guard performance when Sarah and Liam arrived to spend the weekend. Since Liam slept all the way from up north we decided to go ahead and let him stay up late. Add to that Liz and Mark had a bunch of band kids over that evening. Sarah and I decided to have our own little pity party and ate half a tub of Cheesecake filling that I found at Krogers just hours before. It was good. We planned to have all the kids back bright and early for a homemade pancake breakfast before traveling to Martinsville for the band competition and getting back quickly so the kids could go to homecoming.

Breakfast was great! The food was really good. The kids could not believe that I actually made homemade pancakes. We got them off to practice and took Liam to the park for a couple of hours.

The band competition was awesome. The Royal Command and Guard won first place again! It was thrilling. We got home and then all chaos broke out. Mark ran through the house trying to find a pair of shoes that fit him so he could get back to the dance. His hair was a mess so Sarah kinda fixed it but it really just made a big poof ball, Mark could not find his toothbrush to brushed his teeth with his finger and then finally put on a pair of John's black shoes with heavy socks. It was so funny. I ran him back to the high school to meet his date for the last hour of the dance. At home I cut and colored Sarah's hair and then we talked until the kids got back well after 1:00.

Juan and I were up early again on Sunday to work the Colts concession stand. Now you see why I didn't blog?
