More about Yellow Hair.

Just thought I would give you a close up our of dear Yellow Hair. She had multiple surgeries to restore her head and now has been treated to a real body. She has a significant scare on her face and had an eye transplant as well. Other than that, she is good as new. She traveled to Prophetstown in Lafayette to go camping, went to Springfield IL, to Chicago and is preparing to go to South Dakota and Florida. She will be well traveled this summer. Watch for her adventures.

Speaking of adventures, the royal family was in Fishers for the weekend. We decided to do nothing and loved every minute. We planned on going to the 500 parade but the threat of rain was enough for us to stay back and drink coffee on the porch. By doing nothing we mean no real plans just stuff on a whim. Dad did not really like that but he was not given a choice :) I was happy to get some things off my things to do list. I got my shopping done for Father's Day and my brother-in-law's birthday, finished up buying all those odds and ends things for my China trip; good thing the trip itself is a scholarship as I spent $200 at WalMart just getting daily items like sunblock and insect repellent. I also spent time scrapbooking with my sister and parents. I was really glad to do that as I wanted to get my Chicago trip pictures in an album before leaving for China. I am really happy with the album. Sarah finished her Disney trip photo album which is a good thing since they are going back in July. Keep watching for trip updates and Yellow Hair sightings.

She's baaaaccckkk!

So sorry for the delay. I have plenty to tell you all but I have been so busy getting ready for China. I am really hoping to have quick computer access in China to share my journey. 21 more days until I leave.
We just finished another journey last weekend. My friend Joey here from Taiwan to teach Chinese in the Hamilton Southeastern Schools went on a trip with me and the family to see Chicago. We designed the trip for our sightseeing friend. Oh, and look yellow hair. She is back. Not only with facial surgery but look she has a body. Now that yellow hair can go in public, we decided that she will come with the family and have her photo taken along the way.
We started our journey in Chicago by parking at my sister's workplace near Sox Park. She and Joey are posing on the train platform. We took the train to China Town and did some window shopping and shared a delicious meal. We then hopped on the train again and went to the Sear's Tower. It was great. Ironically, the tallest tower in the world in now in Tapei, Taiwan where Joey lives.
It was a beautiful Chicago day so we walked from the Sear's Tower to Millenium Park stopping by the Piccaso by the Federal Building. We got to see the bean and the water sculptures as well before heading back to Lansing to stay at my sister's house.
In the morning, we treated Joey to a game of H.O.R.S.E. I think she actually enjoyed it.  Time passed so quickly and we had to get back home and back to work.
Keep checking, Yellow Hair has been on quite a few adventures. Sorry no China trip for her. We are afraid they might confiscate her because it would be so weird to have her with me.

Pretty in Pink..and brown

It was the HSE Prom last night and Liz and Josh got all dressed up to go. This year's prom was held downtown at the Indianapolis Convention Center.
When we went shopping last weekend to buy the big dress, this brown polka dotted dress was Liz's first choice. Four hours of dress shopping later she decided on this one. I suggested they accent it with pink and what a great choice. Josh and Liz really looked nice. They had a bunch of fun too going with a much larger group of students. Juan was not too sure about the whole not wearing a bra thing, the back was held shut with strings. That would not allow for any sort of undergarment. The good news for Liz was that she did not have to take off all of her ankle bracelets either.
What a cute couple!
