Watch out residents of Fishers; Mark now has a driver's permit. It's hard to believe. We've been nagging Mark to take driver's education for more than a year. Weird, we know. But finally I just signed him up. Your mommy can't drive you to work when you're an adult!
Originally I wanted Mark to take lessons in December, but since I'm the main driver's assistant and was down with foot surgery, we needed to wait until now. Saturday when we went to get his permit, I forgot to have Mark bring his glasses so we made two trips to the BMV. It only took about 2 hours with permit in hand before Mark was driving around the east side of town. He's actually pretty good! He even admitted to being happy about taking the class. He goes each day for class and drives 2 days a week. With Jazz band that means that he's out each day after school until 7. Long days for sure!
Mark wants to be my constant chauffeur. Too funny. He has watched plenty of movies in the past few days. I think it has more to do with driving to the video store than it does watching the movies. Sunday he drove me to work to pick up some paperwork. He also drove me to the Holiday Inn in Indianapolis as I had a meeting with some teachers who came to visit from TN. He waited for me for 2 hours in the lobby just to be able to drive me back and forth. Even waited without complaining. Good for him! He's finally enjoying the much anticipated freedom of having the ability to drive. For us, darn it...more insurance premiums.
